August 3, 2010, 7:30 pm, Shiloh Hills Park

The public is invited to join us for Astronomy Night at the new Shiloh Hills Park for a talk and observing through Club members' telescopes.

For more information:  http://www.springtwpberks.org/ParkAndRec/FeatureItems.htm

Directions:  Take Route 222 to the Mohnton exit. At the stop sign at the end of the ramp, turn onto Grings Hill Road (if you are going south on 222, turn right; if you are going north on 222, turn left). At the 4-way stop sign, turn left onto Old Lancaster Ave. At the 4th road on the right, turn onto right onto Sage Drive (if you cross the bridge over 222, you've gone too far). Go .8 of a mile and turn right into the driveway for the Shiloh Hills Elementary School. Turn right to go into the parking area to the right of the school. Park in the lot, and at the back of the parking lot there is a gravel road heading back to the trees. Walk back, and just past the trees there is a pavilion and clearing.  That is where we will have the star watch. (If you are bringing a telescope, or cannot walk back to the pavilion, you may drive back.)

Thursday, August 12, 6:00 pm - Picnic at Dave Brown's Farm

Instead of our regular monthly meeting at the Museum, club members are invited to a pot-luck picnic at Dave's farm.  Bring a dish to share and your own beverage.  Tonight is the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower, so maybe we'll see a good show.
